We were up early to do some laundry and The Lonely Sock was a short walk from the motel. Whilst we were waiting for our washing to be done we grabbed a coffee and croissant from Commonplace Coffee Brewers across the lane.

Once our laundry was done and dropped of we wandered up to Harley-Heaven Melbourne for a look around. Then we walked over to Queen Victoria Market. The markets proved to be a boon for us. Our beanies and scarves proved to be lacking for Melbourne weather.

Leaving the markets we were off to lunch at La Spaghettata, we never turned the menu over to look at their pasta menu and we foolishly thought it was off no pasta was on offer. Our lunch was enjoyed over a bottle of wine and we followed up by Tiramisu for desert and a Affogato coffee for me and a flat white for Mrs Thirsty.

After lunch we wandered down to the old Melbourne goal and did the self tour, lot of history there including Ned Kelly and his mother Ellen Kelly. See our blog about it here

From there it walked back down to the CBD and stopped for a beer at Young and Jacksons. It was pretty busy so we only stayed for one beer and moved on. Our wanderings took as past Hofbräuhaus Melbourne. so we stopped in for another refreshment stop.

Once we moved we we decided to head back to Chinatown for dinner again. The Westlake Restaurant was top notch for food and service. We had “Banquet A” very filling and very tasty. Check out Westlake Restaurant if you are ever in Melbourne.
