Another lazy sleep in today before heading out to take some photos and partake in more dining and drinking some adult beverages.

Today’s first stop was Observatory Hill to get some photos of the iconic Harbour Bridge and the Observatory. From there we wandered around Barangaroo Reserve with our coffee and breakfast stop at Brix & Beans Coffee House.

Our wanderings took us around towards Circular Quay as Mission Point, Wendy Whiteley’s Secret Garden and McMahons Point Wharf for some more photo opportunities.

From Circular quay we took a quick ferry ride over to Milsons Point. the view back to the Opera House, Circular Quay and The Rocks is amazing.

There are plenty of photo choices just around Milsons Point itself, the harbour, the bridges, the Opera House and Luna Park are just a few options.

About 1.1 km from Milsons Point is a hidden treasure of Sydney,  Wendy Whiteley’s Secret Garden. It is a public garden in the heart of Sydney. There are meandering pathways to discover sculptures, or you can sit back and simply enjoy the nature and serenity of your surroundings. It was created over 20 years by artist Wendy Whiteley, wife  of Australian artist Brett Whiteley,

To get back to Circular Quay you can take either the bus, train or the ferry. We walked about another 1 km to McMahons Point to get a ferry back and capture some more photos.

Once back at The Rocks it was time for a beer, and despite previous disappointing experiences we gave Fortune of War in George Street, The Rocks another try. Sadly it lived up to its previous experiences of poor service. We are heading back to Sydney in June 2024 and whilst many pubs in The Rocks will be on our list to visit the Fortune of War will not be getting another chance.

Having dined in many pubs and restaurants in and around The Rocks over many years we wanted to try somewhere new.

After quick look at Google Maps we found there was an Indian Restaurant just 600 metres from our motel called “The Spice Room”.

We love a good Indian meal and we weren’t disappointed with our choice. We’ll be visiting “The Spice Room” again in one of our future trips to The Rocks.

We ended our night with a final beer at the Munich Brauhaus in The Rocks. Followed by a leisurely stroll back to the motel. Tomorrow we would hit the road again.
