Today was a short ride of around 180km with our destination being Longreach.

We would take advantage of the short ride to visit both the Qantas Founders Museum and Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame & Outback Heritage Centre.

The Qantas Founders Museum is a world-class, multi-award winning museum, it opened in 1996. It tells the story of Qantas from its early days in Outback Queensland to present day.

The The Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame and Outback Heritage Centre opened in 1988. Since then it has seen over over two million interstate and international visitors.

It showcases the history of the stockmen and the harsh conditions they endured in the outback. The centre provides visitors with a spectacular and unique outback experience.

We chose the Albert Park motel due to its proximity to both the Qantas Founders Museum and Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame & Outback Heritage Centre.

Both are within easy walking distance to the motel. If you want to go into town for a few drinks and a meal you can either get a taxi or walk the 2.5km into town.

We got the taxi in for dinner and decided to walk back. It was unsurprisingly rather dark at night 🙂
